A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment aims to evaluate environmental risk and liability at a property. This type of assessment provides essential environmental due diligence for stakeholders and is usually required by lending institutions.
Important aspects of a Phase I include a file review at local and state agencies, an environmental records review from various databases, a site walk to identify potential environmental concerns, an interview with a representative of the parcel, and knowledge of the geologic setting of the property. We use this information to evaluate how historic and/or current actions at the site and surrounding areas may be affecting the property. A Phase I is a crucial first step in understanding the environmental risk. Our assessment is performed by an Environmental Professional to the most-current Phase I ESA standard (ASTM E1527-13).
While many consulting firms in the northeast offer a variety of environmental consulting services, KAGE specializes in Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. By specializing solely in this type of reporting, we offer a thorough and unbiased assessment. Should your property require additional services, KAGE works with local consulting firms and Licensed Environmental Professionals to provide further Phase II and Phase III assessments and services.
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment requires a skilled Environmental Professional with an expansive knowledge of environmental liability and a "knack" for property research. This often comes with a large time investment to properly evaluate properties and thoroughly research any available historical information. KAGE is happy to provide your firm with a range of services from data collection to complete report writing. Contact KAGE today to see how we can assist you in providing clients with Phase I Assessments and other environmental professional services.
